The Black Cherry Cap-O-Matic Space Pen, finished with Cerakote, is one of the toughest retractable pens in the Fisher Space Pen line. The pen is coated with a ceramic polymer-based material that provides excellent resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and heat.

While the AG7, Bullet, and Shuttle Series pens have always been the stars of the show, the classic Cap-O-Matic Space Pen has truly been the blue-collar workhorse of the bunch. Its single-handed activation makes this model the pen of choice for construction crews, law enforcement, firefighters, military personnel, first responders, medical professionals, outdoorsmen and women, and anyone who demands dependability from their writing instrument. The creation of the Cap-O-Matic allowed Fisher Space Pen to offer the same technology used by astronauts, in a single hand activation but at a price that everyone can afford! The line utilises cap activation to extend and retract the point, and it carries a pressurised PR style ink refill cartridge.
The pen offers all the unique capabilities synonymous with Fisher products, including writing upside down at any angle, underwater, through grease, in extreme temperatures (-30 to +250 degrees F), on almost any surface, in the gravity-free vacuum of Space and three times longer than an average pen.
