The history of the Caran d'Ache Fixpencil began in 1929 when it was invented by an engineer in Geneva. It was launched on the market one year later by Caran d'Ache and became a global success. The Fixpencil was the worlds first mechanical pencil. It is entirely made of metal and is fitted with a clutch mechanism. The extremely lightweight metal body is coated with three enamel layers. The sensitive push button action and patented gripper tip guarantee perfect control of the lead. There is a lead sharpener incorporated into the cap. This item was developed and manufactured in Switzerland.
