COMPARATIVE REVIEW OF MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK 149 AND MONTBLANC LEGRAND 146 FOUNTAIN PENS.Read More
The Meisterstück 149 - a design icon that writes history and MONTBLANC LEGRAND 146 both are outstanding, excellent, flagship pens by Montblanc a company in pen making for the last more than 100 years and Meisterstück 149 recently celebrated the completion of 90 years since it’s launch. Both the pens are made of deep black precious resin with gold-coated details, surmounted by six-pointed white star emblem a symbol of snow-covered top of Montblanc the highest peak 4810 Meter high in the Alps range of Europe and finished with handcrafted Au750 18 Karat gold nibs of no. 9 and 6 respectively with rhodium-coated inlay apart from Piston Filler Fountain Pens with ink window and threaded cap closure. Both are largely sized pens about 5.75 inches in length. Suitable for all sizes of hands even without posting the cap. Meisterstück 149 is a cigar-shaped thicker pen which is more or less seen as a signature pen, lifestyle statement / prestigious/ ego/show off the pen and is seldom used for long writing sessions or everyday use pen. LEGRAND 146, on the other hand, having the similar features except for slightly less girth/dia and marginally shorter when the cap is off because of no.6 nib has been found to be more comfortable for long writing sessions. Which pen to choose with which nib size has to be left to the individual choice.I have been using MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK 149 with BBB Oblique signature nib as a signature pen or for satisfying my urge for calligraphy. MONTBLANC LEGRAND 146 with BB Oblique nib I use as everyday use pen. Hope this is useful.
